Nerve Soft Tissue + Neurological Balance Conditions

Conditions We Commonly Treat

We support patients dealing with many nerve- and tissue-related concerns, such as:

  • Sciatica and nerve root irritation
  • Pinched nerves in the neck or lower back
  • Carpal tunnel–related symptoms
  • Muscle strains, tears, and contusions
  • Tendonitis and overuse injuries
  • Soft tissue inflammation causing pain or limited mobility
  • Nerve sensitivity following injury or surgery

Understanding Your Symptoms

Nerve and soft tissue conditions can show up as:

  • Radiating pain into the arm or leg
  • Numbness or tingling
  • Burning sensations
  • Weakness or difficulty gripping or lifting
  • Persistent tightness or achiness

How We Help

Your therapist identifies irritated or compressed structures and evaluates how your posture, movement habits, or muscle imbalances may be contributing. Your treatment plan may focus on:

  • Reducing tension or compression around nerves
  • Improving mobility and flexibility
  • Strengthening muscles that support proper movement
  • Calming inflammation and improving tissue healing
  • Guiding you toward safe activity and long-term symptom control

Our goal is to help you feel better, move more freely, and regain confidence in your body again.

What to Expect

At Farmington Physical Therapy, your initial evaluation visit is designed to be clear, comfortable, and informative. We’ll explain each step so you know exactly what we’re looking for and why.

1

A Warm, Welcoming First Visit

You’ll be greeted by our friendly front desk team and guided through a simple check-in process. Your therapist will review your medical history and talk with you about your pain, injury, and goals.
2

Comprehensive Neuromuscular Evaluation

Your therapist will perform a detailed assessment of your movement, strength, coordination, balance, posture, and nerve mobility. We may assess reflexes, sensation, gait, and joint mobility to identify the root cause of your symptoms and how your nervous system is functioning.
3

Functional & Balance Testing

If you’re experiencing dizziness or instability, we’ll perform safe, guided balance and vestibular assessments to evaluate how your inner ear, vision, and nervous system are working together. For nerve-related issues, we may perform specific neural tension or mobility tests to determine irritation or compression.
4

Clear Explanation of Findings

We’ll explain what we’ve discovered in plain language — whether it’s nerve irritation, muscle imbalance, vestibular dysfunction, or soft tissue restriction — and how it connects to your symptoms. You’ll have time to ask questions and fully understand what’s happening in your body.
5

Personalized Treatment Plan & Ongoing Support

Based on your evaluation, we’ll create a customized treatment plan that may include therapeutic exercise, manual therapy, nerve gliding techniques, balance retraining, posture correction, and home exercises. Our goal is to restore function, reduce symptoms, and help you move with confidence again.
At Farmington Physical Therapy, your health is personal. Our team is here to help you move with confidence, recover with purpose, and live life to the fullest.

We begin with a comprehensive evaluation, develop a personalized plan, and walk with you every step of the way toward recovery.
